How do I play Viking Lotto?
To play Viking Lotto, you must choose six numbers from 1 to 48 and one Viking number from 1 to 5. You can add Joker to your ticket for extra chances to win. You can play from any authorised retailer in Sweden or online. Go to the How to Play page for more information.
How can I win a prize?
There are five ways to win a prize in Viking Lotto. Prizes start from matching as few as three main numbers, and range all the way up to matching the six main numbers plus the Viking number to win the jackpot. If you want to increase your chances of winning a prize, consider playing multiple lines and adding the Joker to your ticket.
What time is the Viking Lotto draw?
The Viking Lotto draw takes place at 20:00 CET in Hamar, Norway.
What time do Viking Lotto ticket sales close?
In Sweden, ticket sales close at 18:00 on draw days. Ticket sales for future draws reopen as soon as the draw has taken place at 20:00 CET.
Is there is an age limit for playing Viking Lotto?
You must be 18 years of age to play Viking Lotto in Sweden.
What are the odds of winning a Viking Lotto prize?
The odds of winning the Viking Lotto jackpot are 1 in 61,357,560 while the overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 51.
Can I play Joker without playing Viking Lotto?
You can play Joker together with Viking Lotto or Lotto. You cannot play Joker on its own.
How do I claim prizes?
You can claim prizes from authorised retailers, bank branches or Swedish lottery offices, depending on the value of your win. The process for claiming prizes also depends on whether you have played online or in a store, but you must always come forward within 31 days. Go to the How to Claim page to learn more.
Can I claim in Sweden if I’ve played in another country?
No. All Viking Lotto prizes must be claimed in the same country where the ticket was purchased. If you played in another country, you will have to claim it there. All the participating nations have different claim periods and processes.
Which other countries play Viking Lotto?
There are 10 participating countries in total. Apart from Sweden, Viking Lotto tickets are also sold in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway and Slovenia.
Are Viking Lotto winnings taxable?
In Sweden, you do not pay taxes on any Viking Lotto prizes you win.
Is there a jackpot cap?
Yes, if the Viking Lotto jackpot reaches €25 million it will stay at this amount until it is won. Any additional funds that would normally be added to the jackpot amount will be added to the second prize tier, which also has a cap of €25 million. In the event that the second prize tier reaches its cap, any funds will then be shared among the winners in the next tier.
